This painting was inspired by the sun on the bougainvillea in my yard. I began the painting with a matt background of deep red. Then apiled many, many layers of paint. No need of a frame the sides are painted.

An artist since my early twenties, my painting career has taken me through over five decades of creative expression. From my early work's inspiration in 1960's Californian culture and the classic works of impressionists and also the era's contemporary artists like Flavia, through exploring the charm of natural and urban landscapes through the bold palettes of the seventies, to playing with form and abstraction in the pastels of the eighties, to exploring ancient spiritual numerology and mysticism through the language of art in the late 90's and early 2000's.
